"the man!"

i think in spanish they are all called "techo solar" but in english the word moonroof does exist. a suroof is generally tinted glass and opens up verically to let in air. it is meant to block the powerful sun. it is a type of hatch. a moonroof is generally an electric sliding glass and metal (part of the car roof) cover that opens (slides) horizontally, opening a hole in the roof of a vehicle. i think the terms are pretty interchangeable though. saludos, jer... p.d. or maybe it has to do with the mood one is in... moonroof = romantic :jeje:

A sunroof in a car is see-through, usually made of clear or tinted plastic but can slide open. Typically also has a cover, most times manual but can also be mechanical, to close out the sun when it gets too hot, as is the case here in NM. A moonroof is mechanical and is made of the same material as the vehicle, so the sun will not come through. It can open fully, without a cover or can tilt up to let in the air. Having worked for an insurance claims department for many years, the two terms are not interchangeable. Irene
