Hi dudes,

I looked on wordreference.com and it shows 'carretilla' as the spanish word for dolly/handtruck.

Some of you may know what I'm talking about. The little carts that you can but boxes on and secure with bungee cords.

Many thanks,

Michael

Jer,

Thanks...

Could I borrow it? I need to lug to boxes to Iberia Cargo sometime later this week. I am really trying to limit my expenses as I leave. Could I get it Wednesday?

hey Mike, no probs.

you can come by my office...

Onspanishtime
calle del correo, 4, 2-4 (second floor, office 4).
metro: sol.

... on wed. between the hours of 12noon and 3pm (those are my normal office hours) and pick it up.

you will also have to return it either from 12noon-3pm on mon.-fri. to the same office or to my apt. in plaza mayor (lots-o-stairs in the latter case) at another time that we can arrange later.

don't take this the wrong way but i will need you to leave me 100 euros to insure i get it back.

last time i lent it out it did not come back for 3 weeks Razzer

if you are cool with that, it's all yours.

please let me know af & when you are coming and if you can't find the office, call me on either 91 523 2159 (office phone) or 656266844 (cell).

saludos,
jer...

Jer,

Thanks for lending me the cart. I am looking at my boxes now and don't think I can take them on the bus with the cart..haha...but I still need it to get the damn things downstairs and into a taxi. Can I pick it up on Thursday at 12 noon?

If I make it to Iberia Cargo on Thurs I will return it on Friday at 12 noon. If I get to Iberia Cargo on Friday, I will return it Monday at 12 noon.

The 100 euros is no problem.

hey Mike.

the busses in madrid will not allow a handtruck anyway.

you could normally stop by any time after noon on thursday but...

i may not be in by noon.

you see, i thought you were coming on wed. i am getting up very early tomorrow morning to get to the fnac and score u2 tickets Cool bound to be a looooooooooong yet distinguished line and i think they open at 10am. i plan to get there well before then so hopefully i will be out of there with my tix and back at my office by noon.

my office is about a 3 min. walk from the fnac so i can get there pretty fast but will not know the status of tix, lines, etc... until tomorrow morning around 10am.

I can leave a key to my office with Rocco (Madrid Insider) who lives in the same building and he may be able to let you in to get the handtruck if i am not there.

i will see if he is available at noon tomorrow as a backup plan and will post here this afternoon.

we can play it by ear, you should have my cell number (656266844) just in case.

saludos,
jer...

p.d. as far as i am concerned, there is no rush on returning it (to a certain degree). you need not get it back to me the next day, just as long as you do not leave spain without returning it Mad Wink

Hey man!!

Thanks...

I can either send my stuff on Thursday or Friday. If it's inconvenient to get the cart on Thursday..then don't worry I can come on Friday. The only thing is I leave on Tuesday so Friday/Monday the latest.

Where I live, the terms "hand truck" and "dolly" are used interchangably, but to me, the pictures show which is which:

Hand Truck

Dolly

In Spanish, is the same word used for both of these items?
