For those living and/or teaching here in Spain, you know and understand well how many Spaniards spend most of their life studying at language schools only to come out sounding at best as if they were doing a bad Ricky Ricardo impression.... "Lucy....You've got some 'splaining to do!!"
Here's a great joke in English and in Spanish which shows the Spanish attitude of 'cachondeo'(joking nature) towards the English Language as an academic subject. Who knows, it might even be true....?
--------------------------------------------
(a) In Japan, they eat very little fat and Heart Attack studies in that country show a lower incidence of heart attacks there than in England and the United States.
(b) On the other hand, in spite of that fact that they consume quite a bit more fat in France, Heart Attack studies there show a lower incidence of heart attacks than in England and the United States as well.
(c) They hardly drink any red wine in Japan as well and, as you have already seen, they show a lower incidence of heart attacks there than in England and the United States.
(d) In Spain, they drink too much red wine and Heart Attack studies there show a lower incidence of heart attacks there than in England and the United States.
(e) What conclusion can we draw from this? Drink and Eat whatever you want to. It’s speaking English that will kill you!

poseso.... Tony
