Hi Guys,

I'm putting this out to the board because at one of the last mm dinners (the christmas one to be exact) I was talking shop with Roland who gave me a great idea of using Jeopardy to review vocabulary (it worked like a charm, thanks Roland).

Anyhoo, With Valentines Day only about two weeks away I want to start introducing some Valentines vocabulary into some of my childrens classes. During the christmas season I did that using a magazine I'd found and then we played hangman to review the vocabulary. For Halloween I made a memory game (it took freeking forever to make but every class I used it in loved it). Anyway, I was wondering if anyone had any creative ideas for Valentines day. I kept the title vague so we can use it for introducing holidays in general so don't feel like your limited to Valentines day. I actually have a book on Martin Luther King Jr. that I was going to use with my 11 yr. olds as well. It's too late for his birthday but even though they don't celebrate African American history month here I'll probably still do it with them next month, so does anyone have any interesting ideas for that as well.

TIA,
Bonnie

Ok, for instance I found this website that allows you to print off various memory cards, you simply select the catagory. It isn't only for holidays as they have catagorys for clothing and household items.

For those of you teaching kids, ben and jerrys have some cute printables for your classes. Family Fun also has some cute ideas for craft activities, though they're printables weren't as cute.
