By any chance, does anyone know an estimate of how much an Institute charges a business for group English classes? Any type of estimate will do because I have no idea how or what theyre charged.

Thanks!

I'd say... (rough guess) that the BOTTOM rate might be something like 24 per hour... Surely no lower than 20.

I base this on my experience working for a company whose strategy was: Low prices for clients, "High" salaries for teachers, and a very low profit margin. Of course, the owners had LOTS of teachers and clients, and made a very nice living doing no teaching at all.

To ensure quality, they only contracted teachers with many years of experience. Otherwise, they had virtually no expenses. (Teachers supplied their own books, etc.)

Anyway: they paid their teachers anywhere from 18 to 24 Euros per hour, so I'm guessing they charged just slightly more.

Hope this has been helpful...

Cheers,
k.

I just realized you were asking about GROUP classes, and my reply was not GROUP-focused. Frowner

Sorry, but I can't help you there... Though, I might be able to ask a couple of ex-students, and find out. Will let u know.

Salsera --

I have seen prices ranging from 20 to 35 per hour for corporate group classes. The range depends on who teaches the class, the experience of the teachers sent to teach, and the quality of the company/consulting agency sending the teacher.

On the other hand...teachers being sent to teach the corporate classes are being paid between 12 and 22 per hour. The range really depends on the type of contract being offered (laboral contract where ones social security and taxes are paid by the hiring company vs. hiring a self-employed teacher who is then responsible for all social security and tax payments).

Teachers here without legal working papers can expect to make in the 15 range.

Hope this info helps! See you on Sunday!
