Thanks, very interesting, we covered all aspects of pronoucation intonation extra but I wasn't quite sure how to apply it to the real world, the example given makes a lot of sense. thanks. Looks like I may be another week till I start I have classes booked for next week starting Wednesday but Thursday is the Fesista so I figure they'll cancel again. I'm getting itchy to get teaching!

As well I'll be stopping by booksellers on Thursday I see if they have it (or if I'm lucky Training Express will )

I'm also going to post some notices around the area and see what kind of response I get

um jer, that is a great example of sentence stress (rather than word stress) nah nah.

Rob, to learn more about pronunciation, I recommend you check out these two radio programs (they are downloadable so you can even play them for your students)...

Stress in American English

Thought Groups in Spoken English

You might also want to brush up on the rules for the past tense pronunciation. There is some good information here.

A good website for First Certificate support is this one.

Good luck!

Hey Redwood, I wanted to say MIL GRACIAS for that link you provided to "Common Errors in English" earlier. I'm an ESL teacher here in Cleveland (hopefully in Madrid later in the year) and that will be SUCH a big help!! Thanks again!

HiramGirl,

No problem at all. I am always here to help. I enjoyed reading that page myself.

Good luck with your move on over to Madrid.
