Hey guys! Its that time again and I am getting calls for classes that I cant cover.
One is a class in Las Rozas in the evenings and another is a class in the city for a low-advanced student who wants to continue her studies and really develop her conversational and written skills. She has a schedule that just wont work with mine.
If you are interested in either of them, please send me an email or post a response here!
I know you are trying to give people on this message board the first chance at those English Teaching Jobs, but I would like to let you know that there are several Teacher trainning programs in Madrid and you could just contact any of them at any given time to find qualified English teachers for your classes. There is EBC, ITC, Canterbury, etc. If you want there contact info just let me know. Thanks. Rocco.
Hey Rocco, I am almost positive that it was Chica`s intention NOT to offer the classes to those companies but, as you said, to board members or lurkers who may need work.
I think Chica might already know about companies that can provide teachers for the classes so your plug for those company's was not really needed.
Wrong, Jer. See you are not always right. Chica wrote me a private message and asked me for the names and contact information of some of these school, not private companies, that crank out teachers that need work just as much as the other board members. In fact a lot of the board members happen to be certified at some of these schools as well and I did not give one of my usual shameless plugs and only mention the schools that I deal with, but most of them in general. So next time do not rush to judge before you have all the facts, Jack!!!
Wow...Im flattered! To have two men arguing over me like that! :jeje: However, "Chica" is fully capable of speaking for herself. Here goes:
jer, thanks for providing this lovely forum where I can, indeed, let fellow forum members (rather than lurkers) know of available classes. I have had a couple of responses which I will be following up on (I repeat, the forum members get my attention...not necessarily the lurkers).
Rocco ... thanks for the suggestions about the TEFL schools and for sending me the contacts. I hadnt thought about them in this respect and it will be good to have another place to turn to if the responses dont come from multimadrid. I am reluctant to contact them right now because I am personally not in a position to be hiring anyone.
FYI everyone: the above mentioned classes will be self negotiated by the teacher who will take them. I am not the middleman here.
Those who responded, if you havent heard from me, you will shortly.
Whoooaaaaa, back off on da fisticuffs amigo :jeje:
Jejejeje, funny Rocco, the only one who ever tells me I am always right is YOU, at the office on a daily basis (hence you be down there askin my biz advice daily ).
Sorry, I just assumed (ass+u+me ) that Chica would already be in the know RE those TEFL schools and that was why she posted the offer here, so as to give the mm-ers first shot
Hmmmmmmmmmmmmmm... it is also a good idea to answer a private message WITH a private message Rocco Otherwise it looks like a plug for schools you work (or used to) with.
Chica, you should post these job offers at http://expatriatecafe.com/forums as well, you may get more experienced (or at least more interested) teachers as that site is for peeps looking to teach English in Espaa.
