"the man!"

Teresa, I am afraid that you have blown my comment out of proportion. I was laughing at the slim to none possibility of a Spanish member of this board organizing the BarBQ and NOT at your search. You can not possibly understand the inside jokee since you are brand new to the board. Sorry you took my post the wrong way. Saludos, jer...

And I also agree with Max, did you try calling the "Chesterfield Caf" yet as he recommended? If so, what was the result? If not, what are you waiting for? Do you speak Spanish well enough to call them? Saludos, jer...

Maybe not blonde- but certainaly a bit rude. People ARE trying to help- but whatever they say you have to make some rude comment: you're not @)(&$(*^) american, not blonde, give you some credit- well if it were so important you would have somehow kept in touch with him- and AFTER all that finally mention that you're looking for the father of your child- which is very serious business. Compassion we all have, but look at yourself through our eyes: urgently looking for someone after 5 years (you never thought before your kid would want to know who Daddy is?) and give skin and bones information about him- like looking for a needle in a haystack. FYI in Spain most of the people working in the Irish pubs are temporary workers, students, or illegals (english speakers) that was easy for them to get a job there... If you stick around, you'll see and realize that people on this board will help and are as helpful as they possibly can be. Keep in mind you don't know our jokes or how people may speak to eachother and we don't know yours- and via text is something that takes a bit more getting used to. So lighten up. Let's start over, shall we? I have only been to Chesterfield once, so I can't help as far as people who worked there. You say you called and no one worked there 5 years ago, but the manager would know who worked there (assuming they were legal there should be some kind of record) but they may not give you that information. So what about someone who has been there for a long time that may know another who was there before... etc. work backwards. Anyone working there would have overlapped with someone else- somewhere along the line will be a person who knew your guy. Also, do you remember where he used to live? It may be worth a shot- maybe speaking to the landlord? I know from Ireland it may not be easy, if you have friends in Spain maybe they could go by the apt. and ask the portero for the landlords info. Or, hire the PI and have them do the footwork.

Teresa, I simply asked if you had called yet to know where you are in the search process. If you keep us informed of what you have already tried, we will be able to help you better in your search. I know this is a trying process but try not to be so defensive. Saludos, jer... p.d. I agree with espe3 that your "blonde" comment was not called for

:ks: Peace! Totally understandable what its been like for you. Hopefully, although it may take some time, one of us will be able to get you some useful information or at least guide you in the right direction. But be patient as it may take time. The world is a much smaller place than most people think- ever heard of the 6 degrees of seperation? You'll find him eventually. Good luck.

Ok Teresa, now that we are all friends again , I am convinced that your best option is a private eye (see my list on page 1 of this thread). This would be the best route since with such a touchy subject, I do not think anyone here in Madrid will want to get personally involved without financial compensation. You should leave it to the pros. Saludos & keep us updated if you can, jer...

Hi !! Ok, let me join you on the search of David Purcellteresa, could you please tell us as much information as you remember to find him ? Do you remember if he mentioned something like where he lived, if he was studing at the University and which subject, if he comes from Madrid or from other place in Spain, did you meet any friend of him, etc. I assume you dont remember his surname, but maybe if you remember how it sounds we can find out the surname. The more information we have, the best !! Take care and keep us posted if you remember something new about him !!

Well, Ive searching with this information, and I found one David, from Gijn, but hes 20 years old. Do you know how old is he more or less ? Here is what Ive found, you never know but I think hes too young for being the David we are looking for. DAVID
