Thanks, Becky and Madsue. I am focusing on the positive of my experiences here in Madrid and letting the rest of the crap that happened to me here go. It's not worth giving it my energy.
I am moving on Can't nothing stop me now I'm pressing on To higher ground
Each step I take Is the new dawning of A brand new day On higher ground

I haven´t met you yet, but have always followed your postings as I yearned to return to Spain myself over the past few years. Your motivation is an inspiration, and now I´m finally back! I hope to finally meet you before you leave. Good luck with all!

wow, sounds like a wonderful party for a sad reason. I haven't met Shawn, but I've benefitted from the wisdom shared here...I may even have to make the trip down to Madrid for the festivities (and a fix of English-speaking!)

So your coming home now? You going to be coming back to VA or picking a differnt state? I'm up here in D.C. It's too bad your leaving I will miss your fun and witty volleyball commentary when I come to visit Spain or maybe come back to live for another year. Hope keep visiting the board or drop me a line if your coming up to northern V.A.

Yes, I will be moving back to Richmond to be closer to family. It makes a difference.
I am proposing we have an event either the 12th or 14th of October at our usual place of bar Los Ángeles in La Latina. Let me know which date works for you. I am thinking about 9pm. it will be sad to say goodbye, but I am looking forward to doing something different with my life.
Hope to see many of you there.
Besos y abrazos a todos,
Shawn

For me, MUCH better on the 12th, or, as Candy said, the following weekend. Unfortunately, I already have an unbreakable commitment on the 14th-but would LOVE to send you off in style!

OK. Point well taken. I forget about the holiday on the 12th, so either the 19th or 21st of October. Any takers?

P.S. Normske, I totally understand about the money situation. Who knows? I may come back to live but with serious money in my pocket. No more scrounging around for classes and trying to do this and that to earn extra money to put food on the table. Those days are gone.
