hi Lina, welcome to the board.

your post is a bit too broad, please be more specific or it is not likely that you will get any advice here.

also, spend a lot of time on this website as there is already a ton of info on things to do and places to go.

saludos,
jer...

Hey Lina, I was wondering if you ever made it there...I'll be going for the first time in June and though I have the places I want to visit and know where I'll be staying, the transportation has me a bit concerned. I think I'll be flying in to Madrid, but I need to get to Torrevieja and I have seen maps of trains and busses and stuff, but I have no clue as to how far or how long the trip from city to city will be and how much it'll cost and wether it's worth it or not. Maybe I should just fly into Alicante or something, but flights there are rare...what do you think? Anybody....help!! The last thing I want is to be lost after a 15+ hour flight.

Hi Ernesto2ndo. Flying between Madrid and Alicante is a good option. If you look at www.spanair.es they sometimes have some extremeley good deals, and last time I booked it was cheaper flying than using the train. The flying time is just under one hour.

Sorry Madsue... I think the address for Spanair is www.spanair.es if that's the one you had in mind.

Right on!! Thank you both. I guess I'll have to plan it that way instead. I have never been a fan of public transportation, so going to "other places" always creates a big sense of uncertainty. Anyways, thanks madsue and Ola, I think I'll use the plane ride to Alicante instead....

...I know you're not my travel agents, but one more question, do you guys have any unbiassed opinions on Alicante/Torrevieja and the surroundings?? A co-worker said it was "just great"...that really doesn't say much. However, I have been places that are undescriveable and it's just something that you have to experience first hand, so I kind of understand....I dont' know, I guess I just want it to be a really cool experience... big grin

Hi Ernesto2ndo,

You might want to check out the tariffs at www.iberia.es, if you have flexibility with your travelling plans I know that you can get one way tickets starting off at 19€+charges, from madrid to alicante, it just depends what dates you want to go or come back.
