Hi, Jer, I've been to the BB less lately for a variety of reasons. As for coming in September, that depends on PataNegra, whose schedule is coming out at the end of this month. Currently, the website is smaller than in the past, due to reluctance to travel on many folks' part. Well, off to check the other posts. Wonder if I could exchange pesetas for Euros at my bank....

Hey Sue, good to see you alive and kickin'. "De pata negra, de pata negra", hope they decide to send you over. Well, what does Pata Negra expect, they did not get theri ad on my site when they had the chance, of course business is poor Hmmmm... if the bank is big they will probably change those pesetas but if it is a smalltown yokel bank you may get arrested and acused of counterfitting Saludos, jer... p.d. I certainly have missed ya on the board Loads of new topics since you were last active, go git em'!

Now that the Euro is official, and has been for awhile, I have a small complaint: lots and LOTS of Spanish websites for restaurants have not updated their prices, and I have no idea how to find out what the exchange rate is now for peseta to euros! Can anybody help? Most online converters(all I've seen!) don't even have any of the old currencies at all... I'm trying SOOOO hard to get a feel for how much money will be spent on this PataNegra sponsored jaunt, how many miles each excursion is, etc.

Hi Sue, Halcon Viajes travel agency gave me the neatest little business card that showed the price in pesetas and then when you tilted the cards it gate it to you in euros. They were giving these free to anyone. Their tel no. was 902 300 600 Madrid code. However, I also noted that some of the vendors in spain had a special little calculators, that I have seen in the Corte Ingles that does just about the same. According to the card 1 Euro was equal to 166 pesetas. 100 pesetas = 0.60 Euros 500 pesetas = 3.01 Euros 1,000 pesetas = 6.01 Euros 2,000 pesetas = 12.02 " 5,000 pesetas = 30.05 Euros 10,000 " = 60.10 Euros Hope this helps!

Thanks Booklady for helping Sue out. The exact official value of the Euro () is 166.386 pesetas and Booklady's conversions are perfect above. Those cool little cards were the huge gift before the Euro kicked in and even after for a few months but now they are a bit harder to come across. I have a bunch Sue and will be glad to give you one when I see you in Madrid Also, the very popular "Euro Calculadoras" (Euro Calculators) come in all shapes and sizes and are sold just about EVERYWHERE. The cheapest place to get one is at one of the "20 duro" (AKA "Todo a 100 Ptas.") stores which by the way have also not yet changed their names to "Todo a 0.60 " Check out the following cool sites and resources to do the conversion automatically. You can convert Pesetas to Euros and Vice Versa online at: www.euroinfo-murcia.com/calculadora.htm www.mediadoronline.com/conversion%20euro-pesetas.htm Also, there is a fun Euro/Peseta/Euro calculator available free for download below: FOR PC --> www.loseurogarcia.com/descargas/pc/calculadora.zipFOR MACINTOSH --> www.loseurogarcia.com/descargas/mac/calculadora.hqxSaludos & happy converting, jer...
