I am trying to get architecture/design ideas for a house I am going to build. I have been to Spain several times and love the how some homes have a fountain and gardens in the middle. Any suggestions, pics and references are appreciated.

Hi Hector, aaaaahhhh! You have brought back some serious memories of days past walking the streets of Sevilla, Granada and Crdoba, peaking into those amazing patios. While I have no first hand sites that I can refer you to, I did do a google.com search with the key words "patios de andaluca" and cam up with soem helpful sites, CLICK HERE TO SEE THE RESULTS PAGE! (loads of websites with photos and info on the patios, their tradition and architecture).
happy hunting!
Saludos,

Hector,

I know the design you're talking about. They can be found in areas like Rota. The walled patios, wrought iron gates, and the brickwork inside are magnificent.

There are several home builders that can be found in Southern California that have been offering similar packages, including the tiled roofs as part of their plans. You might want to check some of the info in that area, and see what kind of plans they have that are free.

Since you live in Las Vegas, the climate should be similar enough to Southern California to work nicely, and in fact better, inasmuch as you don't have to face quite the problem they do when Mother Nature decides to "shake things up a bit."

Happy hunting! Smiler

JP
