The web continues to amaze me. I just found this site, which will conjugate any verb, anywhere, anyhow. Check it out at http://www.verbix.com/languages/spanish.shtml for the Spanish section. How cool is that?

Adrian,

Thank you so much for this information. I can recommend it to my students and let them see the verb forms that we discuss in class.

it didnt work for me. I got to the page then typed in a verb and got nada. I thought at first that my choice verb "follar" was too graphic, then I changed to "tener" and it still didnt work. Any one having problems?

GUYS!!! Eeker Eeker Eeker [Embarassed] [Embarassed] [Embarassed]

(Susanita, yes SOMEBODY is misbehaving all right!)

Hey Adrian, check out your 'presente' (you cannot say 'yo ...uello, tu ...uellas, etc...., where did you hear that?)

And 'el', in this case, "wears" no accent.

You guys are becoming so "Spanishized", in other words, 'mucho hablar y poco....' Roll Eyes Big Grin

Gracas, por la risa! Adrian has given new meaning to conjugations! I can see getting the student's attention.

BTW, just a small pedagogical sideline, but in order to get my Composition One students to look at special dictionaries, and how useful they can be to a researcher, I have an assignment that refers them to Patridges Dictionary of Unconventional English and I ask them to give me their top ten "unconventional" words, like the "f" word and its meaning, derivation, etc. It's the most popular assignment!

Good Lord! You step outa mm for three days and the place goes to the dogs!! Can't leave you guys alone for a minute!! The Madrid heat is definitely getting to you darlings.
Pim, actually I think that "fuello" bit might be correct if it's talking about the act of moving a "fuelle", not about the nasty, the problem is your mind is just too filthy to even think about any other possibility. Just to be sure, we can let the web master look it up and see if I am right or just trying to appear sanctimonious and holy.
Adrian, some homework for you: look up all the synonyms for "follar". I want them differentiated by country and/or region and also a study on the various connotations and correct usage of each word. This is all in the strict interest of improving your Spanish, of course.

Just stopped busting a gut after reading all this :jeje: and finally got a chance to post again.

pim & sedusa wrote...

Well ladies, jer to the rescue. Since I am a pro at the subject matter in question Big Grin , in order to understand why Adrian posted those OTHER forms...

quote:
yo fuello
t fuellas
l fuella
------
------
ellos fuellan
etc...
... amongst the rest of the "conjugal conjugations" :jeje: :jeje: :jeje: , one needs to actually see the page that conjugates the verb at that website ---> CLICK HERE FOR THE ****ING PAGE ALREADY Wink

You will see that the "odd" (aka irregular forms) of the conjugated verb are in red text. The site does this to show that these are irregular conjugations of the verb (in this case, as lena said, the verb having a second meaning and alternative conjugation).

They simply give you both possibilities, the different forms in red. One takes the normal conjugation and the other the "o --> ue" irregular verb conjugation.

Took this from the RAE dictionary ( www.rae.es )

quote:

 follar1.
(Der. del lat. follis, fuelle).
1. tr. p. us. Soplar con el fuelle.
2. prnl. Soltar una ventosidad sin ruido.
MORF. conjug. c. contar.

 follar2.
(Der. del lat. folĭum, hoja).
1. tr. Formar o componer en hojas algo.

 follar3.

1. tr. ant. hollar.
2. tr. ant. Talar o destruir.

 follar4.
(Quiz der. del lat. follis, fuelle).
1. tr. vulg. Practicar el coito. U. t. c. intr.
2. tr. vulg. Fastidiar, molestar.
Bet you had NO idea it could meam sooooo many things.

In the same light, the verb "apostar", which has a few diff. meanings...

quote:

 apostar1.
(Del lat. apposĭtum, de apponĕre, colocar).
1. tr.
MORF. conjug. actual c. contar.
~las, o apostrselas, a alguien, o con alguien.
1. frs. coloqs. Declararse su competidor.
2. frs. coloqs. Amenazarle.

 apostar2.
(De postar).
1. tr. Poner una o ms personas o caballeras en determinado puesto o paraje para algn fin. U. t. c. prnl.
... and 2 different possible conjugations (normal and irregular), is shown the same way at that verbix site, with the different possibilities in red text, CLICK HERE

Also, the more basic explanation is that all irregular verb forms are in the red text.

See the page at http://www.verbix.com/languages/spanish_verb_groups.shtml for explanation of the red, blue, etc... print....

How did I get so smart?... READING!!!

So, I guess VERBIX is GOD after all!!!

Saludos,

p.d. Although the site does have some errors, for example, the verb "Jeremiar" (to be super-cool) does not seem to be in its database :jeje:

No, no y no!, Ill admit fuellar was probably a/the way to use the f verb antao, and maybe it even exists nowadays in some bable fabla or whatever dialect....but really,....I swear, if any SPANISH* guy ever comes up to me and asks fuellas? Ill say yes (just cauze its not gonna happen!) Eeker Red Face

*This is a key factor, considering some guiris can pronounce f----r pretty badly! Big Grin Smiler

pim, not sure what you are refusing to believe with your "No, no y no!" but those irregular forms of "follar" are indeed referring to the OTHER meaning of the word.

Just look at the web page I linked to in my last post, it is OBVIOUS Roll Eyes
