now there is more room for the thread title itself.

only the first 35 characters of the thread title and the thread post count will appear in the "last 10 posts" windo and in the "10 most viewed" only the first 40 characters of the thread title will be visible.

this also keeps each listing on one line so more are visible in the windows at once.

Ay, I don't want to be a quejona, but I miss the last poster name. The number of the post just doesn't do it for me... I can't figure out what I've read and what I haven't.

that is a bonus for me as now page views go way up since you have to go to the thread to see if anyone has posted after you (or after the last one you remembered reading).

anyone who knows about running a website (especially one as large and expensive as multimadrid) knows that page views = sponsors = money to pay for this "toy"

oh, and by the way.

as for not knowing what you have read and not read, there is a nifty tool for that here.

all you need to do is learn to use it!!!

on the main menu, click on "Find" ---> "New Since your Last Visit" and that will call up a special page with only the threads that have been posted on since your last visit.

I don't know about the rest of the guys & gals, but I quite liked all the google links, as they were (mostly) very useful, and some quite fascinating in fact! And yes, I admit to having clicked on them many times, and discovered by means of sheer Serendipity, some amazing things, that I wasn't even looking for in the first place.

Now that's what I call Serendipity!!!

thanks Santi but the funds they brought in did not justify the soace they took up nor how they slowed down the pages loading.

what was the worst about them was that often times the google ads that appeared had absolutetly NOTHING to do with spain, spanish or even the topic they appeared on.

maybe i can figure out a better way to integrate them in the future (if they improve the way they work).

ok, i have completed the installation of the right hand sidebar and it looks fantastic (if i do say so myself ).

new stuff on the board...

- the FORUMjumper below the following image...

... in the sidebar. to jump easily form one forum to another. you can also use the normal "go to..." menu on the main navigation menu.

- topLINKS below the following image...

... in the sidebar. these are recommended liks to external sites and they vary depending on the forum you are on since they are related to each forum title. for example, on the transportation (getting there and moving around) forum, the image is as follows...

... and the links are transportation related...
madrid airport shuttle.
madrid walking tours.
party bus madrid.
click & add your link!

- the shoutbox below the...

... image. all welcome to use it, just type in your shout out and click "shout". see the "SHOUTbox in da house" thread HERE for more info on the SHOUTbox and how to use it.

- google ads below the...

... image on the sidebar. these links are technically supposed to be related to the page content depending on the page one is on but sometimes they are off (not my fault, google's problem).
EVERY CLICK THAT OPENS A SITE MAKES ME AND multimadrid A SMALL COMMISSION SO PLEASE CLICK AWAY!!! (EVEN IF YOU ARE NOT INTERESTED IN THE LINKS) .

- each forum main page now has it's own image telling you what forum you are on. for example, the transportation forum shows the image...

... on its main page HERE . there is also a search box for quick searches to the right of that image. type a search word or words into that box and click the "search" button to the right. this is an alternative to using the search function "search/find" on the main navigation menu.
