I thought that I would just post a few small words/thoughts/prayers, in rememberance of those poor unfortunate people who were caught up in the train bombs at La Atocha, on this day last year.
Those who will be going to La Atocha today, might like to print them, and carry them with them, and perhaps place them in a suitable place alongside their Candles, so that others may read them too, and share in the sentiments, and those moments of solemnity.
The interpretations into english here, are not perfect or exact, but pretty well close enough.

I have no other way than to remain optimistic and to believe that some day they will see reason It is not too late for humanity, we can still inhabit the Earth in peace and harmony.
Although I cannot be there today in person, I am very much there today in spirit, in my thoughts, in my prayers, and in my heart, and I am there for those who lost their lives to terrorism & tyranny, It is a difficult thing to find forgiveness for those who are responisible, and we are taught in all religions to forgive, but many would say that for some crimes, it is impossible, but at least we can strive for forgiveness, and perhaps one day we will, lets hope so, for the sake of keeping the peace, and for the future of humanity.
Un fuerte abrazo mis amigos!
Saludos.......Santiago

How beautiful are the prayers. Thank you for the translations. I cannot express my thoughts about the deaths of the innocent people who died that day a year ago at the hands of the barbaric and fanatical terrorist. I am still overwhelmed by sadness and anger. Yes, we are taught to forgive but I truly can't find that forgiveness in my heart.
Once again, I convey my love and condolences to the lovely people of Spain. I grieve with you today. From the USA.. with love and compassion Diana...DBOZ
Thank you OP for starting this thread, as I was just looking to share my grief here.
I am still heartbroken about 3/11, I will never be the same, Madrid will never be the same. I have stood on that Anden quite a few times during joyous occasions with family and friends. That explosion killed a piece of me that day.
Thank you Jer for going along and lighting the candles for all of us still in luto, but not in town to represent. My prayers to the families and souls of the fallen. Our sorrow is our bond.
Not the same, I said, but the Madrid will always be special. Even Hemingway thought so during the bombings during the war. Crises come and go, but the spirit of Madrid is eternal. Viva Madrid.

You're welcome Carmen, and dboz & toroloco too. I'm glad that my sentiments were shared by some other members out there.
Hope you are keeping well Carmen, send me an email sometime, I'd like very much to tell you about some of my latest cd's and in particular "Encuentros", one of my more recent cd's by El Lebrijano, and another of his called "Sueos en el Aire".
