Sorry jer, but no, I'm not getting anything in the way of Banner ads, even after going into my firewall control panel and setting it to allow all ads & stuff, that I normally block out totally, the Martini-bar ad is just not making the trip for some reason, but I'll try something again later tonight, but it's very dificult, becuase I've got my PC set up so tightly, that it keeps out stuff that more often than not I would like to be able to see, but can't, and after being hacked big time last year, I am more than reluctant to lower my defences, just to view a banner-ad, but I'll see later.

Saludos....... Santiago

Jer- I can't see it either and I also have IE version 6.

The strange thing is that last night I tested those links and they were working- I did see the banner for MMB.

Jer, now at work and testing your banners,... if I get fired, you'll have to find a new job for me ;-)

The first link takes me to a page with the fat one showing his belly on the top of the screen.

The second link takes me to a page with the "mmb" banner,... and the link works properly.

IE version 6.0.2800, Macromedia Flash Player version 6,0,65,0.

Ok, I did a few tests:

a. WXPH SP2 and IE 6.0 1st link loads "el gordo" ad, 2nd link loads MMB ad.

b. same machine but with Firefox 1.0 both links load MMB ad.

c. Mac OS 10.2.8 and Safari 1.0.3 both links load MMB ad, but absolute position on screen is all messed up, on one instance it showed the ad over the last 10 posts box, and the other it showed it right on top of the threads text.

Now I would definitely fix this last issue right of way since I am sure the crowd going to MMB are big Mac fans. Why I know of at least 3 people that frequent that place on Fridays that use Macs.

I hate quotations. Tell me what you know.

As said by other "compis", I just can see it on the second link. On the first one, I see the one of the Gordo. I tried to check it yesterday, too when you informed us about the new sponsor, but it wasn't there either. My version is Internet Explorer 6.0

hey all, thanks a TON!!! keep the feedback coming.

NOTE: DO NOT BE AFRAID TO POST HERE WITH WHETHER OR NOT YOU SEE THE BANNER OUT OF FEAR THAT THE MMB PEOPLE WILL GET MAD. THIS IS IN A TESTING PHASE AND IT DOES NOT MATTER WHAT THEY THINK RIGHT NOW. THE IDEA IS TO GET THIS WORKING.

ok, for those of you who only say the mmb banner on the second forum and not the first (pretty much everyone) i have fixed that and you should now see the martini bar banner on forum 5 ( www.multimadrid.com/cgi-bin/jersbbucgi/ultimatebb.cgi?ubb=forum;f=5 ) as well. CAN YOU PLEASE CONFIRM THAT.

sunny, look again now, it should be fine. wait a bit for the whole page to load. i deleted the banner from the server last night for a bit and you may have looked when it was not there and hence saw nothing.

Nava, no idea what is going on with you. odds are you do not have flash on your pc.

Fabrizio, thanks for the in-depth testing, you the man!!!

oddly enough, Roland (banner designer himself) tested the banner on his MAC as well land it is fine. i am pretty sure however that he uses mie and/or netscape and not "safari" (never heard of that one Confused ). i'm pretty sure the vast majority of MAC users are on mie or netscape as well.

Fab, can you please test it on your MAC but with either mie or netscape and let me know what happens?

so, taking into account that 95%+ of the world's browsers are either mie or netscape, i have to ignore the other 5% of browsers (opera, safari, etc...) or i will go crazy trying to please everyone.

AGAIN, THANKS TO ALL FOR THE "TESTING". IF YOU (AND OTHER MEMBERS WHO HAVE NOT YET POSTED HERE) COULD KEEP THE FEEDBACK COMING AS I MAKE CHANGES THAT WOULD BE GREAT Big Grin

saludos,
jer...

I can see it now.

Btw, are you giving free web design classes to Holaaaaaaaaaa and me in case we are fired? Maybe we should think about changing into an industry where working intensively with a computer is not an issue ;-)
