Jer, sorry to bother you with this, but the thread about the street photo guide is so big it barely fits on my screen. No other threads are like this, any reason as to why?

How strange! I don't have a problem with that thread (or rather the width of the postings), it just looks like all the others to me. I shall keep checking on the messages between you and Jer to see what's causing this for you - it's intriguing.

Hey Sue, this is the first I have heard of this. Check your "view"---> "Text Size" settings in your browser to be sure the text size is not st too big. That is all I can think of but a larger text setting would affect all threads
Here are my two cents worth! (I've read this expression a lot of times in this board and yesterday I asked my English teacher what did it means ).
I've reproduced her problem setting my computer's resolution as 800x600 (instead of my actual 1024x768). Doing it and going to the problematic thread you'll see what she is talking about.
The difference between this thread and the others is because in one of the messages, there are 2 lines too long and without white spaces between the words. I'll put this two lines here but with some white spaces: http://fotos.qdq.com/1/h/ad?type=f; ville=03428079;nomvoie=Plaza+Mayor; numero=15;templ=frame;templ_photo=photo;templ_carto=carto http://fotos.qdq.com/1/h/ad?type=f; ville=03428079;nomvoie=Cava+de+San+miguel; numero=13;templ=frame;templ_photo=photo;templ_carto=carto
Jer, I don't know if you can retouch these two lines in the message board for having a couple of white spaces between some of the words. Maybe if you do it, you'll cannot surf to the webpage just clicking the link.
No se si me he explicado bien
Saludos.

Hmmmmmmmmmmmmmmmmmmmmm, I don't think that Mad-Sue is using a 640X480 resolution since that low a res will make websurfing a nightmare and no website will look good in it.
I too use 1024X768 and my site is designed to look good in 800X600 and 1024X768.
Anyone who knows web design would agree that it is next to impossible to create a decent looking website for a 640X480 resolution setting.
I understand you perfectly & see what you mean by the long lines totx. I guess I could just use a word or two like CLICK HERE FOR THE PHOTO OF MY APARTMNENT as I do in some other threads where a URL may be way to long to post.
May I confuse things a bit more? I,too, had 'some' but not all, of the responses to some these threads that don't fit into a normal sized screen. I assumed it was the way the writer entered the responses as it is not consistent throughout the message board. I use the higher resolution so I didn't think it is that. The practical way to deal with it has been to 'shrink' the screen then use the bar at the bottom to move across as you read (yes a pain--but it worked).

Thanks to all who gave advice on my "size problem". Today it seems to have been resolved. Firstly I have up-graded my Web Provider to their latest version and at the same time reduced the resolution, Hy presto! I can now read the post in full without having to play around with the bar thingy. Thanks to everyone. Sue.

Good move upgrading your browser, soooo many people never do that and are working on really old ones like Netscape 2 or Microsoft Internet Explorer 3
Browser upgrades are free so it is mostly due to either laziness or lack of know how on the part of the user. I have gone to clients houses to "fix" their PCs becasue they would call me and say that they have trouble web surfing (nothing fits on the screen, everything is ugly and coloors do not appear as they should, etc...). When I arrive I see that they are working on a brand new $2,000 PC but have their resolution set to 640X480 and the colors of their graphics card at 256 colors Problem is they do not know how to change itthemselves so I have to charge them for the vsit anyway.
Others have really old PCs (like 6-10 yrs. old) and have the first versions of web browsers. One guy last week was knocking himself out cause he could not do any online banking from his PC. When I arrived I saw that he was using the first Netscape browser or something assenine like that and aside from the fact that most banks online are not Netscape compatible, that version had no Java support, ouch!, making his banking on the web impossible from that PC
