I (jeremy) need a "Streetwise" Madrid map since I lost the one I was recently brought by a visitor to my site.
If anyone is coming to Madrid soon, can they please pick 2 of them up and bring it over.
I used to buy them at Borders bookshop in N.Y. and they run $6.95 each (I think) and I will of course pay you back for them (either in dollars, pesetas or euros ).
p.d. if anyone can bring me the maps (please let me know on this thread so others will know if I already have someone to help me out, I do not want to get stuck with loads of them (they are good but not that good!).
Besides, I started this thread as a "plea" for people coming over to bring me a map and jaimemiguel (you da man ) brought me 2 streetwise Madrid maps a few weeks ago and gave them to me when we went out to lunch (thanks for lunch too buddy, not to mention that CDROM with your thousands of Spain photos ).
It is more the idea of meeting my board members and visitors when they come over than buying the maps myself. It is nice to meet my members, share our love for Spain and Madrid, shoot the breeze about culture, places we have been in Spain, etc...
If I want I could just have my mom send me a load of them but that is not the idea.
So, now you all know the perfect gift for the multimadrid webweaver when you come over
Jer, Of course... you're right. Shipping would be high from the US, I imagine, but I have ordered tapes from the UK, and it was only $4.00 to ship to the US. Guess I had that in mind. Nice that you already got the maps from a member and lunch too

Jer, What is a "Streetwise" Madrid Map? I have a Madrid map from a company called Editorial Everest S.A. This map is very detailed but my copy is 11 years old and falling apart. I need to replace it with something.
Streetwise maps are the best around for travelling and seeing a city. Their website at www.streetwisemaps.com was under construction for the longest time but is not done but it is weak, I expected MUCH more from them on the WWW
The maps are easy to use, up to date and nearly indestructable (covered in plastic). My first one lasted like 6 years (3 of pretty heavy usage).
