the convincer for me to put this donations system up were the e-mails i got while the site was down for 3 weeks.
some people asked if the reason it was down was financial and while it was not, getting it back up and changing to this most awesome new board software was not cheap. they wanted to help and who am i to say no
some of you may find this cheesy or laugh but those who do have no idea what it takes to keep this puppy online
donate if you want, if not, just ignore the images.
hi gang, 1,000,000% convinced that people do not donate to websites (no matter how helpful they may be), u have decided to remove the donations animation from the forum.
in it's place, i have placed google ads.
i have put the ads up because they are dynamic and they scan the page content and show ads related to spain (or to the content of the page they appear on) or i would not use them. every now and then a sill and unrelated ad pops in, for example ads for message board software show up because this is a message board and i am doing my best to avoid that. for some reason some of the ads show in spanish even though i have opted for english and i have written to google ad sense to find out why and if there is a way to not have ads in spanish show.
all in all, the ads work well and have replaced the "donate to multimadrid" button.
so, the google ads are helpful AND every time someone clicks on them and visits the advertisers site, i get paid between a few cents and a few euros which i can use to pay for the site. also, it costs the visitor NOTHING to click so there is no reason not to visit the links.
