Toni, The change to the plastic bottle with Mrs. Buttersworth has already created a market for the glass bottles with collectors. Go figure! Millions of them sold, and like everyone else, we kept throwing them out - Now there are people who will pay nearly what the cost of syrup was in the first place for just the bottle. They even say that within two years, the collectors will pay two or three times what the product was worth in the first place. It's amazing. All the things we throw out today become collectors items down the road. But to save them all, we'd need warehouses to store all our trash in. I was at an auction a couple of days ago, and a simple horse harness (not even complete or in good shape) sold for a figure that made me want to jump up and down with joy. Especially since my wife and I kept two of the two horse hitches, and one four horse hitch from the family farm I grew up on, in Wisconsin. All three are in perfect condition. Sometimes it stumps me as to why people collect, but then I look at my stamps that date back to the 1800s, including both Spanish and U.S., my baseball card collection from the 40s and 50s, our antique butter churn, the harnesses, and all the rest of the goodies we've squirreled away, and/or display, and realize we're just as big of pack rats as everyone else - The problem is, we don't want to sell any of it, no matter what it's worth. Instead we keep forking over money for insurance premiums to at least make sure we don't lose everything to fire or theft, and not get a degree of satisfaction from our loss, in cash. JP (Just another pack rat - )

Hey JP, sounds like a sweeet little collection ya got there buddy I understand what you mean when you say you do not want to sell the stuff, even if it is worth $$$. I had some collectibles before I left the U.S.A. to live here in Spain but since I wanted to liquidate my "packrat stuff" there, I sold it. HI ToniG, it was nice meeting you here the other day and great of you to deliver the waffle iron Thanks for the bisquick, Mrs. Butterworth and smoked salmon from Seatle as well, that was a very nice touch. You will always be my saviour. Now all that is standing between me and my waffles is a small 25 Eurocent fuse for my transformer so I do not fry the waffle maker plugging it into the 240V socket here Saludos, jer...

Hey Max, yeah, that is "A Taste of America", there is a seperate thread on it HERE. No waffle irons, only food there but very expensive. Besides the idea is to meet people who are coming over from the U.S. abyway and they can bring syrup, bisquick, bagels, etc... if they want to I agree with you on that chocolate comment. Saludos, jer...
