Hey Jill, whooooo hooooo! Have a great time, way too scary for the likes of me Eeker

Try:

1) the folks at www.skydivelillo.com Big Grin If their dives are nearly as ccol as their website, your gonna have a blast!

2) the site at http://personales.mundivia.es/rmontaraz/aerolibre/index.htm . Looks prwtty complete as well.

I have no personal experience with these companies so you will have to do some investigating.

And if you just want to go up and not toss yourself to the earth, you may want to take a look at www.flyingcircus.es Cool

Saludos & feliz cumple Big Grin

Hey! Skydiving is GREAT. Beyond great. And you can do it in Spain. When I was writing for The Broadsheet a few years back they sent me to do a jump with Mike Shaw. He is a strapping Liverpudlian who has been living in Madrid for years and jumping out of planes even longer. He was involved in the Lillo school that Jer mentions above, but I don't know if he still is. I did find an email for him on another skydiving website.
mj.shaw@mad.servicom.es.
He is really great, knows his stuff, and if like me English is your first language and the one you turn to when you are totally freaked out, as you might be while standing in the open door of a plane at 10000 feet, the fact that he is a native English speaker is great!
Have fun!!

Um, but I don't know how to make it an actual link!

Cheers!

Oh yes - SKYDIVING is the best thing in the world!! Big Grin

But I had to smile about Jer's disclaimer in the first post - I took part in a 2 week skydiving course in England in July this year, but I was only there for 2 days! Broke my ankle on the first jump Razzer - ow!

Hasn't put me off wanting to jump though, so now it's getting better, I'm looking for somewhere to go near here in Madrid. Will be checking out those websites! That feeling as you let go of the plane and hurl yourself at the ground - it's special. I guess I'm not the best advertisement for it, what with broken bones, but I'd recommend the experience to anyone. I did a tandem first about 6 months ago with NO PROBLEMS at all. Loved it, but had to do it myself to get the personal challenge thing going.

Good luck to anyone with the guts to go do it!

If anyone has checked the above info, I have to modify it by saying, the Skydiving Mike Shaw has left the country! His old company is still coordinating jumps, but without him. See jer's links above.

Also, I am heading back to Madrid in January and would love love love to jump some more. If anyone is up for it, let me know, and we can make a trip of it. Of course I think I want to wait until April or so when the air is a little warmer!
