I really don't think that there is just a Dominican neighborhood, but rather a hood where Latin Americans live. I can think of the metro stops Cuatro Caminos to Plaza de Castilla on Line 1. All along Bravo Murillo you can find many Latin American immigrants living and along the back streets. I could be wrong, but I have never stumbled across just a Dominican hood. Shawn

as far as i know, Shawn is right, there is no "Dominican area" per say. i would also venture to guess that the dominican community here is one of the smallest of all the latin-american communities. i believe the ecuatorians and peruvians are more abundant. aside from the areas mentioned by Shawn above, the areas around metro "quintana" are also chock-full-o latinos. if you really want to find the dominicans, go to the retiro park or the parque del oeste (near argüelles and moncloa) on a sunday morning and walk around screaming "¿hay dominicanos por aquí?" if you give me advanced warning i will come and film you with my handycam saludos, jer...

My ex-girlfriend was Dominican. She lived and worked on San Bernardino and told me there were quite a few Dominicans living there. But not enough to have their own shops and bars, if that is what you are looking for. Damian

That is exactly what I was looking for. I just thought there might be an area with a Dominican colmado and a comedor. Actually I think my friend would be quite pleased just to have a Dominican meal.

It's north of the metro stop on a side street. If you eat there, will you report back? I miss the Dominican food from our 'hood in DC.
If I find the restaurant or anything Dominican I will leave feedback. I will be in Madrid the middle of May. Maybe I will just take my friend on a walking tour of the Cuatro Caminos area to see what we find.

My ex's mum was the chef at Con Dos Fogones on San Bernadino. I dont think she's there now and I don't know if her food was Dominican influenced, but its worth looking at. Damian

I say when you get here, just go to CUatro Caminos (metro lines 1, 2 and 6) and just start walking North on Bravo Murillo towards Plaza de Castilla. And like Mariposita says, try the side streets. You should find something Dominican in that area. Shawn

I can´t thank you enough for the information. We went to the restaurant today for lunch and everything was fine. The meals are $8 euro and truly a tipica Dominicano Restaurant. My friend was so pleased. In the several hours we were in the neighborhood she saw about 50 Dominicanos, which is the most she has seen since January. It was nice to see the smile on her face when she saw someone from her country. Will post more information when I return to the USA. I am in Madrid until Sunday.

I'm glad that your friend had a good time and met some Dominicans in the process. Like I said before, I met some Domincans, but it's not like they are in a neghborhood together, like rumanos, por ejemplo. Please tell us more when you get a chance. Shawn
