I am thinking about going to Andorra in a week or so. I've looked at all the tourism sites and it seems quite nice. Also, it seems close to other nice places like Toulouse and some Spanish border towns. Has anybody been? and does anyone think it's worth passing 4 nights there?
Thanks!
Miguel

Hello Miguel! I've been there, on a skying trip, and it's a nice place to sky or go shopping, but there's no much more.. Andorra la Bella it's the capital city, and it's quite small, just some streets full of shops. If you don't go skying or spend a couple of days around, I don't think it's worth 4 full days...

unless you are skiing (or jonesin for a truckload of cigs :jeje: ), i think 4 nights is overkill although i can't really talk since i have never been in summer.
In May 2000, I made a trip the other way--from Toulouse into Spain for the Weekend. We travelled on Friday evening from Toulouse and spent the night in Andorra. There was some-little- nightlife, but the weekend discount shopping seemed to be the summer excitement.
You may want to reconsider a day trip from Andorra to Toulouse unless you like a lot of driving. I seem to remember a lot of two lane roads and about 3+ hours driving time from Toulouse to Andorra la Vella. From there to Toulouse and return is a lot of driving. You may want consider spending the night in Toulouse.
That said, the mountain scenery was amazingly beautiful, lush, and green at the time of my trip.
Andorra rocks! It's a great place to get away from it all. If you need some R&R, it's hard to beat it. The scenery is inspirational. You have the famous Caldea Thermal Leisure Center that nobody has mentioned yet. Here's a pic of my favorite area of the Caldea...
Mari and I went in July for a long weekend and came back completely refreshed. I recommend it strongly if you're looking to shop, relax and, depending on the season, ski.

hey tony, now that you mentioned caldea, we went in winter one night after skiing and it was a mmmmmmmmmmiiiiiiiiiiiiiiiiiiiiieeeeeeeeeeeeeeeeeerrrrrrrrrrrrrda!!!
sorry, maybe it is better in summer but in winter, when you are dying for the hot water treatment, the water was luke-warm and all in all it was pretty sad as spas go :lo:
i did enjoy the hot ceramic area of your photo though
