Hey everyone!! I have been looking for a place to go ice skating. It is not as big here as in southern ca and consequently people dont really know where a rink is... Ive heard there is definitely one in Majadahonda (kind of far from where I live) and Ive heard of one that "might" be in Chamartn... just wondering if anyone knew for sure before i trecked out on the metro/bus system w/ my skates looking for some ice!

thanks,
Deanna

Hey Deanna, de nada!

Hope any advice I may have given helped you with the laptop question.

All I ask is that you post what you find about the ice rinks here on this thread for others to benefit from in the future. You know, give a little back Smiler

Have a great time skating Big Grin

There is another ice rink in all the way up the A6 in Villaba...but for the life of me cant think of the name, despite the fact that I drive past it everyday...Ill keep my eyes open tomorrow morning and repost the name! Although, if Majadahonda was too far...this one is definitely out of the question for you Deanna... although its very accessible via train.

hey guys!
thanks for trying to help!! i have been pretty busy, so i havent had the time (or many euros on my cell phone Roll Eyes ) to call all the places you listed. i did call about three however... i think most that you have listed are roller rinks without the ice rink. but i know for a fact that somewhere in the compilation of numbers and addresses (thanks again!) lies an ice rink! And i will get through them eventually. I also think those websites you gave are for roller skating.

those were some super cute pix of you and your neice skating and i cant wait to do a little outdoor skating of my own!

and thanks chica for your advice. im gonna start with the possibility of a close-ish rink... from there i will start heading to the afueras... i hope i wont have to end up going past "B2" if you know what i mean. Wink

i will keep you posted as i find out more about ice rinks!

Deanna

k let me clarify a tad... those that DONT say "hielo" in the heading dont seem to be ice rinks... and i beleive the ice rink part of chamartn is closed... it was a recording but it said something about the hours for "roller"... the message is really fast spanish, hard to understand... it seemed like ice skating was no longer offered. i will call this week to those that say "hielo"! (i called the others first cuz i can get to them via metro... it seems like i just gotta suck it up and realize that i might need to bus it to a rink) Red Face

A little experience talking...I've been to two of the rinks mentioned in the first two posts. Leganes & Majadahonda. The rink in Leganes isn't the nicest I've ever been to and the ice isn't cleaned up as regularly as it should be. The rink in Majadahonda is much, much better quality wise and it's also right next to some the Warner Brothers Lusomundo shopping center. I'm pretty certain that there's got to be some efficient bus service running out there. It may be worth the investment of your time...Happy skating... Smiler
