Just goes to show that even if you live here in Madrid so many things just go unnoticed.

There is a small plaza just behind the plaza Mayor where for the past 16 years there has beem an original art show on Sunday mornings and this Sunday was the first time I ever saw it Eeker

The stands are there (about 25 of them, all original paintings) from 10am to 2pm on Sundays and you can find paintings for between $30 and $500.

Here are a few pics:

1) PIC #1

2) PIC #2

Next time you are in Madrid, take a walk through on your way from the COIN & STAMP FAIR in the Plaza Mayor to the RASTRO on a Sunday morning.

Since the art show is in the "Plaza del Conde de Barajas" which is tucked away and bit off the beaten path, I whipped up this map for you all to make it easier to find.

Saludos,
jer...

Hola 69NNVME.

Well, while there are art galleries around the city, I prefer to recommend the street artists to you since there are many and they have some nice work.

One of the biiger venues for original art is in the Plaza Mayor itself, on the other side of the Plaza than my webcam is facing.

I like to call it Artists Row (CLICK HERE FOR THE PHOTO) and it is full of very Spanish artwork at affordable prices. There are alos a lot of caricaturists in case you are in a sill mood Big Grin

Ther is also the Paseo del Prado in front of the PRADO MUSEUM where both veteran and aspiring artists sell their creations on the sidewalks in the warmer months.

Here are a few Pics of one artists work that I liked:
