Its also have ; Restaurant Gym Sauna Outdoor Swimming Pool Indoor Swimming Pool Parking

I recomend all of you to visit navacerrada.

Is there a part of the Sierra that is close enough for a daytrip and accessible by train (cercanias) or bus from Madrid?

We'd just like to get out of the city for half a day or so on the weekend.... Go for a little walk. Nothing ambitious--we're just looking for a spot where we'll see more trees than people...

If you'd like to take a trip like that I highly recommend a weekend trip to Cercedilla/Los Cotos. There's a Cercanias train from Atocha that goes to Cercedilla and then you catch the mountain train to Los Cotos. The train-ride up the mountain is simply spectacular.

When you get off at Los Cotos there's a nice little restaurant you can get a snack at and then you can hike along a beautiful trail for miles around the mountains. Simply gorgeous.

Here's some photos of our trip there last year.

Cercedilla has plenty of reasonably priced hostels and good places to eat.

Thanks Roland--it looks beautiful. I checked the schedule (renfe.com) and it looks like there's a train every hour on Saturdays and the trip is two hours (one way).

We went to Cotos this weekend and spend the whole day hiking in the mountains. It is absolutely beautiful. The fresh air is a shock at first but it gets all that clogged up tar out of your lungs all right.

I can recommend it to anyone.
