Hola gente!

This Friday, my boyfriend is coming to Madrid to see me! yuhuuu!! :ks: I can't wait to see him but the problem is that I finish my exams that same day and I haven't got time to plan anything Frowner I'm stressed :lo:

He has just been in Madrid twice and not for long, he's 23 and British. I would be very grateful if you could send me some suggestions of things to do and places to visit that are not very difficult to get to cos we haven't got a car.

Thanks in advance!

Don't you know that sometimes the people that were born in a city are the ones that less know about it? I haven't gone out in Madrid for nearly 18 months now and I think that it is a city that evolves day by day.
I was asking for good experiences that people may have had here.

jejejeje, guess you are right.

i guess as the guiri madrid nut that i am, i lost sight of that but you really should get to know your city better.

ok, one of my "off the beaten path" bits for you would be to take him up the "faro de madrid" --> www.multimadrid.com/descrips/sites/faro.htm Big Grin

don't miss my pan-o-ramic at www.multimadrid.com/panoramics/faro_de_madrid/faro_de_madrid.html Cool Cool

it's something that most visitors to madrid do not discover on theri own and it is pretty cool up there Cool

have you been up there Aidah?

bring a bag lunch and chill for a while. they have a soft-drink machine up there so no need to pack the drinkies.

saludos,
jer...

Here's some suggestions:
1) Eat some hot chestnuts (outside metro de Quevedo) before going to V.O cinema close by.
2) Stroll around los Austrias.
3) A night out in Huertas? Perhaps go in the Kareoke bar?
4) Go to that indoor snow palace (I forget its name)
5) As well as going to El Corte Ingles etc for Xmas shopping, pay a visit to some of those really cheap Chinese shops.
6) Afternoon stroll in Retiro park
7) Go to a football match in Getafe or Lleganes or any other smaller team.
8) Choose a sunny day to have a drink in the Plaza Mayor. One drink only (unless you are millionaires)
9) Have a special meal in a South American restaurant - Argentinian steaks are superb.
10) Treat yourselves to some pescados/mariscos (or have a paella). Not typical regional food, but you can get really nice examples in the capital.

...and that's without mentioning the museums (de Jamon...) Red Face
