I recently went to the Air Museum, on the Cuatro Vientos air base. Its got all the sort of things youd expect. Lots of craft of all types, mementoes of aviation heroes (most of whom fought on the winning side of the Civil War though there are also a few others presumably added recently), a good display of motors, uniforms, flight simulators, etc.

Its free on Wednesdays, though I think on the first Wed of each month theres an air show, which isnt free.

To get there: its just at the edge of Zone A, but there isnt really a convenient way to get there without using interurbano buses as theres nothing beyond it before Alcorcn.

FWIW you arent any longer able to use Zone A Abonos for travel on interurbanos for journeys wholly within Zone A. What you can do is:
get to Cuatro Vientos Renfe/Metro, emerge on the east side of the N-V (which is the side that the Renfe station is on) and walk south for 15 minutes between the Renfe track and the N-V (this is only a few metres wide so you cant go wrong). Youll see a water tower bearing a Museo del Aire poster, and you enter via the entry to the air base (in principle you could be asked for ID, though I wasnt).

If you start on the wrong side of the N-V youll have a much longer and less obvious walk. Stephen
