Hi,

I lived in Madrid last year but had to return to California to finish up my last year to get my Degree. I am moving back to Madrid end of June/early July. My fiance and I are looking for a place to live in Madrid, preferably near the center but as long as it is close to a metro we are fine.

Our budget is between 200-500 Euros per month. We would love to have an apartment of our own but I know we probably won't find one in our budget, so a shared flat would be fine. We rented rooms in the past with families but we are looking for a place with younger people.

We are both very friendly and easy to get along with people. My fiance works in the restaurant business and I will be teaching English.

If anyone knows of anything that might suit us please let me know.

Thanks,
Diana

Hi Diana,

Do a search of the board as there are numerious posts on apartment finding. However, I had a great deal of luck with loquo.com. I think it's quite difficult to search long distance though, that was my experience though as most people want to meet you before agreeing to having you move in with them.

Good Luck,
Bonnie

hi Diana, welcome to the board and congrats on your move back to madrid cool

Nanny is right, aside from the many offers on this forum that come and go, the "housing" section at http://madrid.loquo.com is a great resource.

see http://madrid.loquo.com/english/cat/312 for apt. rental listings.

as for your budget of up to 500 euros, if you want your own flat, that will have to come up a bit (especially in the city center).

the advantage is that now is a great time to look since many flats empty out this time of year (summer coming).

i also agree with Nanny as to the coming here and then looking, it is VERY hard to find a place from abroad and i would not take anyting sight unseen nutz

good luck.
stay in touch here and let us know how it goes.

saludos,
jer...
