Have found the most atrociously named website www.eurocheapo.com - much as the name put me off it is not too bad really!

Hi Candela! No, you didnt miss that info!!! I have been asking the questions in preparation for the start of my trip in February (getting excited!!). But now find I have a few days extra to take and may be able to come to Madrid around 10th Dec, depending on the cost of flights! Ill post as soon as it is definite and I would really love to get together with you (and as many others as possible )

I've never tried hostals during my frequent trips to M, preferring the hotels. But after years of the Ritz, Palace, Reina Victoria, Suecia, Atlantico, Ingles & Capital (notice the declining order), I'm ready to try the Hostal Villar on C/Principe. A triple is 56 Euros. Got decent reports, so if one is off to the fights beginning in late April and not spending a bunch of time in the room it doesn't sound too shabby. Thyglow
