A new discovery (for me) yesterday is that, apparently, (and please do correct me if I am wrong here), a piso is NOT an apartamento. I used the word apartamento (actually departamento-which I don't think they use here for this at all), and the woman I called was quite insistent that it was NOT this, it was a PISO-which, frankly, confused the hell out of me!
I begged help from some passerbys (I, apparently, have no shame) who told me an apartamento is small-just a bedroom and maybe a living room, while a piso has several rooms. Just FYI so you won't be a similar idiot!

I think a flat classification here in Spain: - Estudio: flat with only a room (living, bedroom and kitchen) and maybe a little bathroom. - Apartamento: flat with a bedroom (and separate bathroom and kitchen possibly). - Piso: flat with two or more bedrooms.
...Good luck! Angel.
