i posted a couple of weeks ago about a program for language assistants run by the spanish government with the us and canada. you don't get paid much, so i was wondering what everyone would say would be the best place for a young person on a tight budget to live, keeping in mind the fact that this hypothetical() young person would like to be able to rent an apartment with other young people and not be out in the middle of nowhere, if at all possible. the provinces that participate in the program are: andalucia, asturias, aragon, madrid, extremadura, and castilla-leon. any thoughts, rants, or kind words would be great.
Saludos,
Kevin

Hi! You state that you don't get paid much. If you are thinking about doing a 2nd job then I'd have to recommend Madrid (surely the best place to find work in Spain). HOwever (in terms of accommodation) it is a lot more expensive than other places. For example you can rent a room in Valencia for 200 Euros - in Madrid you're looking at double that (yes there are exceptions but this is generally correct). Good places for young people - Salamanca, Santiago, Zaragoza, Granada, Valencia. I'm sure there are many more....
