When I've stayed in Valladolid previously I've stayed at Hostal Paris (983370625), Especeria, 2. It's not that cheap; however it's probably the best value hostal I've ever stayed at as it is top quality (better than most 80 a night hotels in UK, although that's not saying a lot)
I've got here some other hostales and numbers, but never stayed there:
Hostal Lima, Tudela,4 983398224
Hostal Astorga, Ferrocarril, 1 983202754

A taxi to the airport normally costs under 20Euros. Hope you find somewhere to stay!

Hi,
Did you find somewhere to stay afterall in Valladolid? Was it cheap/expensive? It would be nice to have some feedback for others who may need to stay there.

I did as it happens: I stayed at the Hotel Los Arces 983 35 38 53, Calle de San Antonio de Padau 2 which I got out of the Lonely Planet. Cant say it was anything amazing, but its in the middle of the old city and for 15 euros a night for a (tiny) well heated single room (basin, bath in hall) I cant complain. The bloke working there was very nice and he phoned the tourist board and the bus company to check that the buses were running normally the next day for me. It was quite a way from the bus station, but I think most places are, as the stations right down in the south, its about fifteen minutes brisk walk from the centre.
That said, I really dont recommend flying from Valladolid - its very prone to fog, and at 1000 metres I am tempted to say its a bl**dy daft place to build an airport - my flight was diverted to Santander due to poor visibility, and although Ryanair very efficiently bussed us up there, travelling all the way to the North coast of Spain to fly to the UK was not that great.

Stayed in Hostal Astorga Valladolid a couple of weeks ago. Very good room (en-suite shower and WC) for 33 Euros (36 peak season). Well located (about 15 mins walk from stations, 2 mins from Plaza de Madrid) and very quiet. Tel 983 20 27 54. Web hotelastorga.com
Incidentally, the airport will be putting in the necessary equipment to operate in foggy conditions at the end of 2006. Expect to see the number of flights to go up dramatically.
