Hello everyone, big grin
I am in need of a large room or studio in central madrid from August or September onwards for approx 6 months (fairly flexible). I will be studying Spanish either mornings or afternoons at college and can choose when I start course.
Budget: 400€ absolute max.
Age: 29
English girl, speak pasable but slightly embarassing Spanish, hence the course. I would like to share with other spaniards if at all possible, but nothing is set in stone.
Main restriction is that I have 2 cats that I can't leave behind. They are quiet, house trained, but obviously hinder my search.
Can anyone help, as I have been searching sites with little success?
Other possibility would be a flat swop, as I have a 60m2 1 bed apartment in mojacar pueblo (Almeria) which will be available while I am away.
Thankyou all,
Jenny

jenny75, it has been said loads of times before and is still relevant now: If you haven't already done so look in http://www.segundamano.es or http://www.loquo.com. You'll find lots of different priced, feline friendly rooms there.

Good luck.

Jenny. It will have to be a room. Even though the prices are getting better over all here in Madrid and the summer is the best time to find a new place as more people are leaving and the landlords are more desperate / flexible, but there are no studios that you would live in for 400 euros in the center.

You can see links and a tutorial on finding housing here in Madrid at:

hi Jenny, i agree with Madrid Insider, no chance a central studio would go for 400.

also, finding as room in a shared flat when you have 2 "mininos" (kitty cats) will be a HUGE task.

you would have to convince the others that live there to allow them since odds are the cats will not stay in your room only.

as for the flat swap, try on some of the house swapping sites out there. just do a google search and you will see there are quite a few. that may be your best option.

saludos,
