Hi!

My names Jill. Ive been in Spain for a month now and I need to find more permanent digs. Does anyone have a room to rent between 150 and 240 euros per month? I am a tidy, pleasant, non-smoking 24 year old American gal. Please write me if you know of anything through the grapevine or if you yourself have a room to rent. My email is jetaway@inorbit.com or you can call my mobile 646.596.335

Thanks!

Jill

Hola jetaway Jill.

Don't worry, it is not uncommon to have trouble finding a semi-permanent and reasonably priced pad in Madrid these days, in fact, it is the norm Frowner

Check the classifieds at both www.multimadrid.com/classifieds and www.in-madrid.com/classifieds for available apartments and/or rooms.

It is Thusday Jan. 24th and while the Jan. ads are probably already obsolete (rooms and apartments do not last long here), I will have the Feb. ads up by tomorrow and I can tell you that there are quite a few good leads in there for next month (wink, wink).

With things the way they are regarding finding rooms and such here in Madrid, it is not a bad idea to pay to get a good place to stay. Some agencies such as Room Madrid charge like 100 Euros (16.000 pesetas) which in my opinion is way to much but there is a new organization here in the city center run by a bilingual guy named Donald that helps newcomers to Madrid to find digs. He only charges 30 Euros (5.000 pesetas) and Don always has rooms and apartments available Big Grin (a true feat here!).

Here is some more info:
WELCOME TO MADRID CLUB
Calle Hortaleza, 4, Derecho - 1 A
Madrid 28004
Metro: Gran Va
Tel Frowner +34) 91 521 1119
Web: www.welcometomadrid.org
E-mail: don@welcometomadrid.org

Although I have provided the info above, the best way to contact Don is to call him and set up an appointment to go see him at his office. He prefers to do things the personal face to face way Big Grin

Saludos & come back to let us know how the search goes!
