After countless hours of searching the web, reviewing previous postings, and reading all sorts of travel books, I'm hoping that someone has some wise words about hotels in Sevilla. I'm looking for suggestions near the cathedral, la Giralda or perhaps the Barrio de Santa Cruz. Parking facilities are a must! I figured in the 120 Euros range and hopefully lower. Any wisdom on the Melia Sevilla or Melia Colon. Looks pretty good online and rates appear reasonable.

Any and all recommendations are welcome!

Gracias
Debbie

We stayed at the Hesperia. It has a secure car park next door, rooms were OK and restaurant fine. Walking distance to the Cathedral, etc. The chain has internet deals not available after you show up. We were able to leave some suitcases with our riding gear in the car during our stay, which was a great convenience.

Hello,

Have you tried www.bancotel.com ? You can find double rooms in 4* or even 5* hotels for 50 Euros, but you have to buy at least 5 tickets in a row

Salu2,
Angel.

I have stayed in a fairly modern hotel about 10 minutes stroll to the cathedral past some nice tapas bars. Have a look at http://www.hotelalcantara.net/ It's well situated (in my opinion) and the road it's in (Ximnez de Enciso) is traffic free.

DUH- just realised you wanted a hotel with car park DUH Confused

At the moment the Sol Melia site is offering two nights for the price of one, and the Melia Sevilla is quoted at 120 for a two night stay. The website is at www.solmelia.com

hey madsue - I just booked the Melia in Granada but still searching for that Euros 120 for 2 night deal in Sevilla. Has it already gone or is it buried in a special window that I can't see ? Euros 60 for 2 people per night in the Melia Sevilla is my sort of price. Big Grin

Hi nige, I just checked my email again and see that I have been sent this promotion 7 days ahead of the general public as I am a MaS Cardholder. It will be open to everyone from 9th Jan, so maybe that is why you cant see it yet? It can be found under Specials and Offers on the homepage, and there is a range of hotels offered throughout Spain (including the Melia Granada!). If your booking is at the weekend, breakfast is included too!

Melia Colon is closer to the 'action' that is the Cathedral and the Bull Ring and other central sights. I have never stayed in this hotel but I am a little dubious about it's 'value for money' even at the deal advertised. BTW madsue -still waiting to see that Euros 60 per night deal in Seville. The Melia Sevilla is closer to the railway station and is a large more modern place. A taxi from the hotel to the cathedral would not cost more than say 4 euros or you could try walking and get lost in the Santa Cruz district. Easily done !

I am tempted to choose a hotel between the Bull Ring (Maestranza) and the Cathedral called HOTEL MAESTRANZA http://www.hotel-maestranza.com/ing_index_english.htm mainly because of the write up in http://www.exploreseville.com/hotel.htm and it's situation (quite apart from the number of beers on tap) . It is also next door to pay PARKING. The only snag is finding the way ! I find this tool really useful for obtaining a decent map of the local streets as well as pin pointing the hotels etc. http://callejero.lanetro.com/apps/lanetro/index.asp The actual location of the Maestranza hotel is at Calle Gamazo number 12. This should link straight to the location. http://callejero.lanetro.com/apps/lanetro/mapas/mapas.asp?id_via=387&pais_geoc=ESPA%D1A&nombredevia=Gamazo&numerovia=12&nombre_fichero=ta1esp-sevll-sevilla&lite_provincia_geoc=Sevi lla&lite_municipio_geoc=Sevilla&distancia=

Thanks madsue - the dates I wanted are already taken on the offer. Darn it. Will stick to the MAESTRANZA and visit the 'cerveceria'. Thanks for the offer though - much appreciated.
