hey herbf. i know them both. cervelo is in the same building and has the same owners as hostal martin. it is a good hostel, location is central but on calle atocha which is quite noisy as for hostal castilla, i am guessing that you are refering to the hostal castilla I on calle atocha as well? i mention this since there is a hostal castilla II on calle marquéz vuido de pontejos number 2 (between puerta del sol and plaza mayor) which is, imho, nicer and the street is a LOT quieter since it is a dead-end street and not many cars drive down it. not sure of the price diff. between hostal castilla I and II but you can google them and figure it out. saludos, jer...

The reviews I have read rated Hotel Asturias a 6. I made reservations for 14/05-20/05. If something better doesn't turn up I will just have to take my chances. I am looking for a place in the 60Euro price range. I plan on spending my time away from the hotel and only using the room for sleep. My February trip I was only in Madrid for one full day and didn't have time to see very much. Cervello did respond but could not guarantee a double bed. I have tried the "put together two single beds". It just doesn't work when sleeping with the significant other.
