Candy. I want to hire you to do all of my marketing. Big Grin

First you cry out and plead for help because of how dangerous your current living conditions are at your flat and how you and your neighbors feel terrorize and threatened about the negative element / people that have taken over your staircase / entrance and now you are offering it up as a safe and secure summer rental for unsuspecting people. :lo:

Please give an update as to how all of the problems have been handled and how people can be more sure about considering your offer. Cool

hey Rocco, in all fairness, i do NOT see where Candy wrote that is "safe and secure" as you wrote above, please explain where you saw that in her post. maybe i missed it.

she did write...

~... the neighborhood is not the best, but it is colourful and fun and very well communicated
which is all true.

howdy how all!

semi-good point madinside.

so, here is the scoop for the unsuspecting peeps.

If you already live in Madrid you know a few things about Lavapies....

~it is THE bohemian center of the city.
funky art galleries, alternative theater, hip bars, indian restaurants, arabic markets, african drum circles in the plaza, blocks of cheap, lively terraces on c/argumosa...yada yada

~you also know that it is not the safest neighborhood in town. we do have a problem with young kids on the corners and in the doorways selling drugs and fighting. they rip off purses and cell phones occassionally and like to use the entrance hallways of buildings for drugselling and partying.

there are neighborhoods like this all over the world...bywater in new orleans, cass ave in detroit, morgan adams in dc, and before it was gentrified for trust fund babies...all of the lower east side in nyc

you take the good with the bad. keep your eyes open, your wallet tucked in the front pocket, and your city senses aroused.

so, what has been done since i reached out to mm for help earlier? well, my door was fixed so the creepos can't hang out in my building anymore. also the problem has put all the neighbors up in arms, as a result the cops are in the plaza nearly constantly. just now as i was coming up they were grilling three kids on the corner....so things have improved alot since the dark days of winter and my previous posts.

so..unsuspecting renters...and those who miraculously see the words "safe and secure" in my original post, close-minded folks and scaredy cats, people with kids, people with crutches (i live on the 4th floor no elevator), people who can't live w/o doormen, people who have never lived in inner cities, people afraid of their own shadows, people with racist attitudes, people who want sparkling sidewalks and well-mannered neighbors...do not even think about renting my place.

hip, young, astute, brave, open-minded, artistic, creative, cultural aware...yada yada...

call me anytime....610 064 964

finally...i see that part of my original post got cut off before i posted it....so additional details:

200 per week/ 500 per month (all inclusive, but must be paid up in full prior to 25 may)

4th floor no elevator

corner apartment, three balconies, tons of sun, views over plaza and rooftops

yogi neighbor who speaks english

sleeps two in master bedroom, one in other room, one on sofa if needed.

tv/dvd

full kit/ full bath

no phone,no internet

cheers...and thanks madinside for giving me an opp to clear up misunderstandings.

Candela.

Thanks for the update. Now I am sure that you will get the right people contacting you and save yourself some explaining time, etc.

Also, at that price (200 per week / 500 per month), I am sure that some open minded person who likes the things you suggested will snatch it right up. Cool
