Hey all! I lived in madrid for a year and (duh) loved it. and like so many others, I'm coming back for more!! I have a new job working with a brand new study abroad agency. And cuz I'm really lucky and got into the company early, they are sending me back to Madrid to be the director of the program next summer. I'm so happy to be going "home" after two years of being away from Madrid! Not to mention I get to show some very lucky students around my favorite city!
Of course, I have a couple questions. While I lived in Madrid I lived well, in a few places... the "why" should be left to another post... but it was mainly in the center of the city: plaza espana and opera. I also had a one month stint in the arguelles area on cea bermudez. The company that is arranging the residencias/apartments in Madrid for the students is looking into the Goya region. I went out to dinner there once, but I don't remember much of the area. I was wondering, do you think that would be a good choice for students staying for a month in Madrid? The closest metro is O'Donnell so it's close to line 6 which takes them straight to the complutense (where their classes are). Pretty close to the red line as well which goes to sol. I just want to make sure it's a happenin area :-)
Plus, just a sidenote while I have your attention: since I'm going to be in Madrid for less than three months, do I even need to worry about getting any kind of visa? (I'm planning on being there from June-ish to August-ish).
BTW, hopefully I can go to some
mm event to finally make a face to face connection with the wonderful people on this site!
CHEERS!

Certainly, travel is more than the seeing of sights; it is a change that goes on, deep and permanent, in the ideas of living.
