Hello,

I am going to be visiting Madrid soon and will be staying at:

Hotel Wellington
Direccin: Velazquez 8
Madrid 28001

Can anybody share any experiences of this Hotel? What Points of Interest are located around the area of Hotel Wellington?

Is this area of town considered situated in
the business and commercial area of Salamanca? Or is it considered to be in the area Retiro?

Thanks,

Ruben Blanco

We have just returned from Spain a week ago and stayed at the Hotel Wellington for one night because they were booked the others, it is beautiful and close to the museums and in a beautiful neighbohood. The pool on the roof is great and it has sauna, massages, hair salon ect. the breakfast was great. It has door man, not that you need one in this neighborhood, but it was nice. They also have 24 hr internet if you are traveling with teens(very necessary to check email). Have a great stay, Peg

Can't get there soon enough!Peg

Peg, Thanks a lot for your great response.
Sounds like a great place!!!! One quick question concerning the internet access, is
it an "in room" internet line that you have access to, THAT YOU HAVE TO BRING YOUR OWN LAPTOP? Or is it a room in the Hotel that has computers already hooked into the internet? We will be there in less than 7 days. Can't wait now. Smiler

Hi Ruben. I am fielding this one just in case Peg (thanks for the great info on Wellington Peg Big Grin ) can not get back before you leave. I am about 99.99999% sure that the internet access Peg referred to is from a terminal(s) set up by the hotel itself, I have yet to find a hotel here that actually has access from the room but if you want to bring your laptop I offer an in room connection service, to learn more go to www.onspanishtime.com/web/internet.htm .

Have a great time in Spain and don't forget to wave to me on my balcony when in the Plaza Mayor.

Saludos,
jer...
