Hostal Samara is in Chueca on San Bertolame (spelling help!). Its a two star hostal, but we paid budget prices. If you are travelling as a couple, definitely check out a hostal because you will save money. If youve seen my earlier thread about Los Amigos Backpackers Hostel, youll know that for a couple itll cost 30 euros a night and youll be stuck with bunkbeads. At Hostal Samara during the low-season its 22 euros a night for a double room without bath. We had a sink in our room though and the communal bathroom down the hall is just like Moms with a full size bath and hot water with water-pressure! We got a discount for consecutive nights, so the total price was only 40 euros for two nights. You cant beat that! Chueca itself has lots of bars and nightclubs and is a pretty cool, central place to base yourself for a visit to Madrid. It is also the gay neighborhood of Madrid and offers an insightful slice of gay life in Spain. Check it out!
Sorry I dont have the address...
Happy Travels,
Jill
