Okay, I'll admit it. I am addicted to tortas con aceite. I can't get enough of their sweet, crunchy, yet savory yumminess. The first step is admitting you have a problem.
And the problem is I can't get them here. I don't go to Spain enough to support my habit, and they're a pain to carry back because they are so bulky. And Tienda.com doesn't have them. (thank God they do carry aceitunas con anchoa, or I would most certainly die).
Do any of you know how I might go about getting some mail-order? I'm gettin' the DT's here, man. Help a girl out.

Hey Mermaid, actually, I just found some on the Tienda site at their DESSERT PAGE.

They are listed as...

 Almond Sprinkled Dessert Crisps.

and

 Anise and Sugar Crisps.

You could also try making your own...

Anyone got a good torta recipe?

Saludos,
jer...

YUM!!!!!!!!!! Checked out the dessert page and I got all excited when I saw the Nocilla (not as excited when I saw the price). At Champion I bought some for 1.99 euros, at Tienda it is $4.95. I think I'll stick to Nutella!

Sedusa, you probably already know that if you go to a Mexican restaurant or fast food establishment, and ask for a "torta", you will get a sandwich made with a Mexican roll called a "bolillo".

My favorite is a "torta de lomo" (pork loin). mmmmmm Red Face

Yes Paul, and if you ask your Spanish girlfriend/wife/signif. other for a "torta" when she/he is mad at you, you are bound to receive a good old fashioned smack upside da head!!! Eeker Eeker Eeker since "torta" can also mean that here in Spain.

Ah, thank you Jer, for pointing that out to me. You have made me so happy.

*sob*

I do seem to be getting stuff from Tienda quite a bit lately. Do they have frequent flier miles? Red Face

I had heard that, a friend of mine visited Spain and told me she got funny looks when she went into a tapas bar and asked for a "torta"! Big Grin :jeje:
