Has anyone been to this restaurant? My (sort of) girlfriend and I ate good steak at Casa Paco in Madrid in April 2001.

I would love to hear people's views on what they think of the place, i.e. is it a good restaurant, was I a victim of tourist extortion, etc...

Casa Paco, on Calle de la Cava Baja no? It is right down the street from me.

Rumor and reputation says it is one of the best in Madrid and all of the big stars, politicians and other big money folk go there often.

I too would like to know if it is all it is cracked up to be?

Saludos,
jer...

p.d. woooooo! Last time Tom Cruise and his Spanish gal Penlope Cruz were in town they ate there, does that make it a good place to eat Red Face ?

It is in Puerta Cerrada. I guess the official address is Calle Segovia. It is a famous classic steakhouse, where bullfighters, politicos, famous foreigners, and movie stars used to go, maybe still do. Best I can remember last time I was there, which was a while ago (except for a glass of very bad house wine at the bar), it was "caro" (expensive) and they didn't take credit cards. I would much rather go to Schotis than Casa Paco. Beautiful facade though.
