Hey Jojo (& Marc), funny, since I never drank coffee in the U.S.A. and started when I moved to Spain (for obvious reasons ), I never thought of the difference in the sizes of the sugar packets but you are right. They are huge here compared to most in the states. For comparison purposes you can hold an American one up to the "actual size" Spanish one below Just goes to prove that size DOES count (and that I have a lot of free time on my hands if I can scan a sugar packet ) Saludos, jer...

Hey all, RE: the stealing of sugar packets here in Spain, the cafs, bars and restaurants actually encourage visitors to take them back to the U.S.A. in order to create "sugar envy" and drum up more tourism It's a conspiracy I tell ya!!! Saludos, jer...

Yeah, Jer I think you are right; it's a conspiracy. All those people heading to Spain are going for the sugar and nothing else. Alas JoJo, I have only one packet as well. I originally took two but one of them tore open in my purse - what a mess! I'm from Santa Barbara, a native actually, but get up to the Bay area often to visit my son at Berkeley. I'm missing Madrid as well, which is why I come to this website often to "visit". Thanks again Jer!! :l: Mama Chula
