had brunch last sunday at "dosa grill cafe" in chueca.
a real treat for anyone missing the brunch thang
they have a website at www.dosagrillcafe.com but the brunch menu is not up there so i stole one on sunday and brunch menu goes something like this (i have loosly translated from spanish)...
quote:
first plate choices:
1) eggs benedict: 2 eggs in a dutch sauceover a sheet of ham, spinache, grilled tomato and bread. a classical brunch dish.
2) "ranchero" eggs: 2 fried eggs, tomato sauce, avocado, and sour cream over mexican corn tortillas. served with refried black beans.
3) bacon & eggs: strips of bacon with eggs (prepared to your liking) served with ham and cheese and special roasted potatoes.
4) omelette: omelette with sprouts, goat cheese and potato pate.
5) steak & eggs: veal fillet with mexican scrambled eggs and served with refried black beans.
all eggs are fresh farm eggs.
second plate choices:
1) green salad with orange preserve. 2) fruit salad. 3) tomato salad with fresh cheese and spices. 4) pancakes with butter and maple syrup :s:
mimosas, coffees and chocolate covered strawberries to top it off, OH MY!!!
i had the steak & eggs and pancakes. food was amazing and very tasty. refried black beans with sour cream were :s: service was excellent and the atmophere very chill and relaxing. enough food to fill you but not over-stuff ya which was perfect.
:jeje: my turn now Omelette with sprouts , is that brussels sprouts, bean sprouts or ??? And with goats cheese too!!!!! The mind boggles, but as soon as I get back to Madrid I will go try it out. Maybe its some sort of hangover cure after a Saturday night on the town

The 27th of March seems like a long, long time from now! If we are in town, we'd love to join you! I'll confirm for sure closer to the date... ARe reservations necessary?
Yum! Sounds great!

Hi all! As coincidence would have it (well coincidence no...more like my beg-steal-or-borrow-to-get-to-Madrid mentality), I shall be in Madrid for Semana Santa and if the brunch date is on, I might stop by. Technically, I shouldn't go all the way from Toronto, Canada to Madrid and have a traditional North American Sunday brunch, but it would be kinda cool to see people from this message board in person. Anyway folks, this "Espaaphile" will be back in the country she LOVES (second in her heart only to her little Caribbean island home), for the 3rd time in less than 3 years! Can I get a "whoohooooo" ? Keep us posted on the brunch thang Jer. Gracias
Haven't tried the brunch, but I was extremely impressed with a dinner I had there about a month ago. Very nice people and although it's slightly pricey (good food often is), I will definitely be back soon. I also highly recommend Bazaar across the street from Dosa - it has the best cheesecake I've ever had (NY included).
