Heat getting to me and just HAD to start an ice cream (helado) thread!!!
OMG, I just discovered one of the best ice cream places in Madrid.
On Calle Huertas (the far western end) where it begins (or ends) at the "Plaza del Angel", there lies an Italian ice cream parlor that is TO DIE FOR!!!
It is on your left hand side as you walk down Calle Huertas (one of the first few storefronts).
Sorry I can't recall the name right now but the name of the place is the LAST thing on your mind when you walk in and see what they have
I think it is called "Ricci" but will have to confirm.
Hey Jer, you've discovered what has been my absolute fav place for all-natural ice-creams for the last six months or so. (and Chloe's, and she lives around the corner, so imagine! :l: )
It's a little expensive but worth it, and their service is quite good as well

I will go back and try the ice cream there. Everything in the cases looked appetizing and delicious. Although, I will be cutting back on my sweets intake to lose the belly.
They seemed to have many flavors and I want to try a few before giving up sweets completely.

Aaaahhhh, pim, I am hurt You have been keeping it all to yourself these 6 months then?
You live soooooo close by, we need your local knowledge to let us in on these sweeeeet little secrets. Come on girl, YOU should have started this thread looooong ago !!!
Ok, do you know how long it has been there? They said it was fairly new but in a city that is millions of years old that can mean anything.
I actually found it pretty well priced compared to other places of its quality (ie. the Hagen-Dazs ice cream parlor on Calle Bailn) and the Ben & Jerrys one on Call del Carmen in the Puerta del Sol, those are even more expensive.

I know the EXACT place! And it is YUMMMMMMMMMYYYYY!! My sister and dad actually found the place. Fortunately they found it 1 week before my move, otherwise I would have been fatter than I already am.
Might I recommend the hazelnut. Delish!
