Hi Jer, has been said a million times but thanks for the amazing site. I usually visit Madrid for the whole of August (am counting days now!) and wonder if you have any recommendations for a really amazing restaurant (pref. many floors up with view over Madrid) We have found many great places over the years and tend to do the same things (e.g wed = cardamomo, thurs = solea....) but feel like splashing out this time. Money no object. No hang on, I have a mortgage, but fairly expensive is okay. Many thanks, Karenanne

You may have to get all of the multimadrid board members to join you since I think this place will only book large groups, but the Faro de Moncloa turns into a restaurant after they've closed the place down to regular visitors. Great views of the city from there.
I recommend "Las Cuatro Encinas," in Madrid near the Puerta Del Sol. Very lavish decor inside and food that is well prepared, generous and truly haut cuisine! The service is the best, you are assigned your very own wait staff, and they treat you like a queen. They are on a second floor, but I cannot remember if they had a nice view, the food was just too good!

El Fronton (Tirso de Molino) is a cool place, the fois is amazing. Txistu near Plaza Castilla is a great Basque restaurant, great fish and I'd love to see the animal they cut the steaks off.
