I ended up having to eat out on saturday and my friends and I decided to head out to Segovia for lunch.
Just wanted to recommend the place where we ate at because it was fabulous!!
It's called La Portada de Mediodia, it's in a little town outside of Segovia called Torrecaballeros. It's not even a ten minute drive from Segovia, and it's really worth it.
We ordered differnt dishes as an entree, being our least favorite, the croquetas de jamon. The rest, hongos, pimientos asados, verdura frita, ensalada de anchoas, was at least excellent.
As our main dish, we ordered roasted lamb and pig, both were five star dishes which on a personal level, I preferred the roasted pig to the lamb. I guess it was because I don't eat it as frequently as the lamb.
I'd rather not go into the desserts, because I'll probably gain weight just by thinking about them, all that we tried were homemade and absolutely delicious.
All that, and a place which was a seventeenth century house, and now turned into a restaurant, respecting the original infrastructure, was too perfect to be true.
Real nice place, it's been a long time since I've enjoyed a place so much, and just wanted to share it with everyone. I'm definitely going back!!

Were any of them homemade apple pie?
Just joshing ya Albert. I have been meaning to post my recipe for "easy apple pie". A no fail recipe. Tried and true and tasted by several mmers, jer included. Promise to do it soon!
Another really great place for eating roast lamb also close to Segovia is called El Soportal in Pedraza. It's right in the square. If you don't go at a really busy time, it's a great experience and the service is good. It's not expensive either. You can get a rack of lamb that feeds 2 people for about 25 euros.
It's worthwhile to see Pedraza too. It's a really beautiful place.
