Top places for 5 Scottish "Hens" coming to Madrid 5-7 October. We are staying in central Madrid - and looking for good food, drinking and nightlife (not too touristy hopefully!) Looking for muy authentico places where we can meet locals as well as tourists. Any suggestions gratefully accepted..gracias, las chicas ecoscesa!

I await an answer to this question too, as my teenage daughter and I will be in town that weekend as well. I have not found any sites that talk about weekends so far in advance as October, though.

Well well well ladies, where to begin. Not sure about the hen night but a "rooster" (not wanting to use the other word) like myself would just tear up the town.

A general answer for a very general question I guess.

I do know that there are a few "hens night" places:

1) La Almeja Picante: This is the most central one and is well located for a night of bar/disco/pub hopping afterwards. It is on C/ Ventura de la Vega, 11 Tel. 91 369 18 16 - Madrid (right off the Puerta del Sol and Plaza de Santa Ana). I pass this one often when I go out in the "Huertas" area and it is more than interesting with erotically shaped cakes and other cuisine in the window. Have to see to believe!

2) La Olla Caliente: Corredera Baja de San Pablo, 39 Tel. 91 531 61 82 - Madrid

3) La Tentacin de Madrid: C/Tarragona, 24 Tel. 91 567 89 07 - Madrid

4) aca-aca: C/Londres, 12 Tel. 91 361 38 69 Madrid

The following site may also be of some interest if you can get along in Spanish:
