Hey guys, just a correction on MILENIO from above, its on calle Pelayo, which is what Campoamor turns into, when you turn onto it from calle Genova. I LOVED it there, good times!!! Lots of fun spanish pop, including my favorite, and Jers, La Oreja de Van Gogh hahahaha. Besos, Joy

Carl Cox will be "here" this Saturday and I would love to go! I say "here" because the location is Fabrik, Avda de la Industria, 82, Ctra Fuenlabrada - Moraleja de Enmedia km 3.5.

I assume this is pretty far out there and wonder what transportation *might* be available to that location (ha ha?) Anyone game?

I would love to go to Carl Cox. Having spent the late 80s and early 90s in Detroit, I am a huge fan.

Alas, I am carless and have early (5pm??) plans on Sunday.

Do post on more great stuff. I am back in Madrid and LOVE to lose myself in Madrid's techno/house/whatever the hell you call it heavy beat soul thumping sounds.

Hmm, that's too bad Candela! 5 pm doesn't sound too hard to achieve but since I'm wondering to myself if I'll be up for volleyball the next day I guess I can't say anything! :z:

Carl Cox :l: is accessible via the Metro Sur, hallelujia and thanks be to the DJ gods. If anyone wants to go see this stellar, awesome global techouse DJ, call me at 617 635 249. Note that we will have to stay until 6 am to get the first metro back. Big Grin :z:

Hey gang, Ena and I won't be going to see Mr. Cox but will be meeting Candela and schwendy in the city center for a drinky (or 2, or 3, or... ) after we see a movie on Sat. night (should be meeting around midnight-1am).

I (or Candela or shwenedy) will post tomorrow (Sat.) where and when if anyone wants to join us.

Or you can call me Sat. afternoon/evening on my cell (# 656266844) to see what the plan is (call before 9:30pm as I will be heading into the movie theater soon thereafter). If ya don't get me before I hit the movies, try around 12:30am when I should be exiting.

Not sure what time you all were planning on heading to see Carl but maybe those going to see DJ Cox. want to meet up foro a pre-Cox. drink with us???

Saludos,
jer...

OOH rats. I was counting out the hours between the post Cox arrival in Madrid time and the bullfight kick off time and there is no way I can do both. Another time Juliette I promise. I love clubbing but it knocks me out the next day.

Anyway, now that I've covered clubbing I can swing back to the other topic on this thread, Sat eve. Would anyone be into meeting at El Abuelo, that little place in the old center, near C/Cruz where all they serve is homemade wine and garlicky shrimp. I walked by it today and all I can think is I must go. Just a thought.

My cell is 610 064 964 and I can meet way before midnight.

xoxo all,
Candela

Knocks me out too, Candela (hence the problem with v-ball the next day), so I understand. I'm thinking Jer and Ena may be out of the movie too late (12:30?) for us to meet up with them and still make the 2 metros out to Cox, but maybe we could meet up a little earlier?

Hey all, Ena and I will not make "the Grampa" Big Grin at 10:00.

We will be at the movies at cine Ideal right around the corner and I will try to call you Candeeeeellllaaaaaa when we get out to meet up with you all wherever you may be.

Hope you are at a place with cell coverage and not too loud to hear the cell phone ring around 12:00-12:30 but knowing you, that is not likely. You will probably be in some ravin dungeon bar somewhere

So the report on the clubbin of last night.

1 Met Schwendy for vinos at El Matador.

2 Next up Mojitos at El Nopal with the very handsome bartender/actor Mario. Gave him my card.

3 Met Juliette, Roland, Josh, Desha, and Pim at El Abuelo, lots of tiny glasses of red wine and platters of garlic shrimp, courtesy of handsome waiter Luis. Gave him my card too.

4 Carl Cox was sold out so we had the pleasure of J, R, and J all night. Moved en masse to Ducados for sweet, frozen, yummy mojitos.

5 Next La Venencia for sherry (that is all they sell) and mojama (or smoked tuna back.) Didnt see the house cat but the dog was asleep under the sherry casks. The oloroso was delicious.

6 Moved over to La Marga where DJ Zelda will hopefully make her Madrid DJ debut. Had Coronitas and Jan created a new drink called The Juliette that tasted like it had cranberry juice but didnt. Jer and Ena joined for a quick one, said The Italian Job was great.

7 After saying goodnight to Roland, Josh and the five remaining women went over to Manhatten Martini Bar for Old Fashioneds, Cosmos, and a Seabreeze. Paul was charming, we were tipsy, it was fun!

8 Next dancing on the stage at El Sol until 4am. Boy can Schwendy and Josh move!

What a great mm night! Now will someone please pass me 8 aspirin, a liter of water, and a bocadillo of jamon.

Hey Candeeeeeeeeeeeeeeeeeeelllllllllaaaaaaaaaaaaa, thanks for the recap Big Grin

Wish we could have stayed longer but Ena's head was a-throbin and we were both beat.

Yes, I highly recommend The Italian Job to any and all movie-goers.

Did schwendy hurt herself dancing by any chance?

That might explain her aborted debut at Volleyball this afternoon Frowner We missed ya Wendy, hope you have a good flight home and thanks again for the new Vball net, it is AWESOME and will bring much joy to us mm'ers for many years to come Big Grin
